Cold hardened 42CrMnMo free-cutted rods production process

The production method of Cold hardened 42CrMnMo free-cutted rods is similar to other steel production methods, which are mainly divided into continuous casting, hot rolling, forging and so on. When making stainless steel rods, it is necessary to follow the correct process and standards. So what are the production process and standards of Cold hardened 42CrMnMo free-cutted rods? Here is a brief introduction for you:

What is the production process of Cold hardened 42CrMnMo free-cutted rods?

1. The chrome ore and scorched earth are input into the pulverizer for pulverization, and after pulverization, the mixed raw materials are input into the shaft kiln for sintering.

2. The semi-finished products sintered in step 1 are transported to the submerged arc furnace, and a certain amount of desulfurization agent is added to the submerged arc furnace to output the molten chrome.

3. Add the molten chrome obtained in step 2 into the AOD furnace, and blow into the mixed gas of oxygen and argon during smelting to start oxidative blowing of the molten chrome.

4. The molten steel obtained in step 3 is poured through the continuous casting machine, and the steel billet is made.

5. Test the chemical composition of the steel billet obtained in step 4.

6. Perform multiple cold forgings on the blanks in step 4 to generate forged blanks, and grind the forged blanks.

7. The chrome ore and scorched earth crushed mixture is added to the vertical kiln through the bucket elevator.

8. The temperature in the submerged arc furnace is 1600-1750 degrees Celsius.

9. Add reducing agent, desulfurizer, ferroalloy or coolant, etc.

10. The forged blanks after the whole grinding are heat treated.

What are the production standards for Cold hardened 42CrMnMo free-cutted rods?

1. In terms of the standard of stainless steel bar rolling, the American, British, German, French, Russian, Japanese and international standards are more advanced, among which the American standard has stricter dimensional tolerances.

2. The relevant national standards for hot-rolled stainless steel profiles are: American ASTMA276 "Standard Specification for Stainless Steel and Heat-Resistant Steel Bars and Profiles".

3. American ASTMA484/A484M "General Requirements for Stainless and Heat Resistant Steel Bars, Billets and Forgings"; Germany DIN17440 "Stainless Steel Sheet, Hot-Rolled Strip, Wire, Drawing Wire, Steel Bar, Forging and Billet Technical Delivery Conditions "; Japan JlS64304 "stainless steel rod".
